Coffee Maker

If you're experiencing coffee overflowing from the filter basket, here are a few possible reasons and tips to help:

  • Too much coffee was added: Make sure not to exceed the recommended maximum of 82g of coffee grounds.

  • Using decaf or very fine grounds: These can are more likely to cause an overflow. Try using slightly less when brewing these types of coffee.

  • Grounds between the filter and basket: Some coffee grounds may have fallen between the paper filter and the basket, disrupting the flow. Take care when adding grounds to avoid spills.

  • Filter placement issues: If the paper filter isn't fully opened or positioned correctly, it can lead to overflow. Fold the seams of the filter before placing it in the basket, and rinse the filter basket beforehand to help the filter sit securely.

  • Low-quality filters: Poor-quality paper filters can collapse or restrict flow. Using a quality, well-fitting filter can make a big difference.

Toasters

The heating elements in Lotus toasters are designed in such a way that they do not glow bright red.

Oven

The heating elements are engineered to cycle on and off throughout the cook in order to maintain the set temperature. This means they are not on constantly.

Additionally, the heating elements are designed in such a way that they may not appear red even when they are on and producing heat.

Griddle

If the POWER light is not illuminated, check the following:

Ensure that the griddle is securely plugged into a working outlet.

Check to see if the griddle tripped the circuit breaker. To avoid this, make sure it is the only item plugged into the circuit.

Multi-function Cooker

The cooking vessel is a tri-ply 7-quart Dutch Oven. It features two outer layers of stainless with an aluminum core between. Both the lid and vessel are oven safe (lid up to 450ºF) and can be used on any cooktop (gas, electric, or induction).

Blender

No - the blender jar should be hand-washed only. For everyday cleaning, fill jar halfway with water and add 2-3 drops of dish soap. Blend for 30 seconds on Manual mode. Rinse and dry throughly.

Kettle

To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit, place 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) cream of tartar (available in the spice aisle of most grocery stores) in the kettle vessel.

Then fill the vessel with water to MAX level (50 oz [1.5 liters]) and run one cycle on the MANUAL setting, set to 212ºF (100ºC). Once the cycle is complete, discard the vessel water and rinse several times with clean tap water.

To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty the vessel after each use.
